Description
The DISPLAY PROFILE command works in conjunction with the PROFILE and SET PROFILE commands to list input/output, locking and procedure call statistics for a particular application or part of an application. This information can be used for analysis to enable application optimization and general performance tuning.
Profiler environment settings
The first part of the display shows current settings:
- cluster
- replication
- iologging
- syslogging
- iostats
- dcache
- fcache
- icache
- dcache
- development
- compile
- locktype
- Preallocated symbols
- Preallocated symbols used
- Preallocated symbols available
Profiler data
Profiler data information is then shown for each profiled code section
- count
- icachereads
- icachewrites
- ireads
- iwrites
- readlocks
- writelocks
- unlocks
- disk reads
- disk writes
- elapsed time
- disk operations
- locking operations
- procedure calls
- function calls
Profiler procedure calls
The final part of the display shows procedure call statistics:
- Name of procedure
- Number of times called
- Time in procedure (second, milliseconds, microseconds)
Output keywords
Keyword | Description |
---|---|
TO <file> | The display output will be sent to the specified file. The filename can be substituted with a <expC>, enclosed in round brackets, which returns a valid filename. If no file extension is specified, then ".txt" will be used. |
TO PRINT | The display output will be sent to a printer. |
