When on a field: please disable mouse scroll in attributes

    This keeps catching me out:

If you open the Attributes on the right, you can scroll down using the mouse scroll wheel. However, if your mouse happens to be over a field that is selectable, it scrolls thru the field options instead.

    For example:
    Name: l20.jpg
Views: 95
Size: 18.7 KB

If you happen to be over Publisher while scrolling, it changes this field. If you happen to be over Publisher path, it scrolls the Attributes itself.

So easy to make a change when you didn't mean to.

Is this really standard Microsoft behavior?

I don't use many MS products to know. Nevertheless I tried it in the VFP9 properties, doesn't do that.
Also in Excel, when you hover over the font selector and scroll, it doesn't scroll thru.

Its to do with control focus as you move the mouse. I'll take a look at it.

In general, yes. When I click on my trillian window, and the move the house over to Chrome browser and move the mousewheel, trillian scrolls. I have to make Chrome the current object. And even with a Chrome page that is true, if it has embedded scrollable sections.

That doesn't mean Barry couldn't capture mouseover and do differently, of course. But if you click on the attributes and scroll, it will scroll the attributes: you made the attributes the current object first.

Now, that said, I can't tell you how many times I've popped an attributes page, gone to scroll it, and my mouse is over a scrolling number control, and I accidentally change the value: if it followed windows, I should have to click in the numberic control before the scrolling happened: being over the control should not be enough for the scrolling to affect the control.

I keep doing this all the time with things like height etc, it's a real pain as I have to cancel and then open teh attributes again.

Would be very nice to have to click into the control before the scroll worked.

<s> when Barry showed it to me, he asked me to keep it quiet until he announced it. I was just tweaking him a bit.
