Customer Portal - Lianja Cloud Desk?

    Hello

Most modern day pre-built SaaS APPS have a customizable customer portal.
Recently I been asked to consider building a Contract/CRM where customers can use a "Self Service Portal".
The Portal also would serve as a landing page for new customer sign ups.

Would this just be a Lianja Web APP? Customers are not really users but will maintain log in credentials.
With Lianja Cloud will this be a configurable feature?

Happy to hear more thoughts on this.

Yes you could build that as an app that does not require authentication.

The login page allows users the ability to change their password. In Lianja cloud there is built-in support for 2FA (two factor authentication), sending SMS and email.

Bear in mind that if you want to make use of users and permissions these need to be assigned by an admin who can run the Lianja admin console app.

    Thanks Barry.

Customers that may be directed to a landing page to sign up/in and would create a login & password.
These details would just be maintained say in a customer table and DEV would write code around to handle new accounts I presume.

The Lianja Cloud Desk inspired in 2015 - most is now capable in V5/6 and had a sign up page but this seems "user" orientated.
Is the LCD still in the pipeline?

I guess the big push right know with the Companies I consult to is negotiating the "Customer Experience" with the Business.

    Hi Paul,

No. You must write into the users table so that they can login and lianja takes care of roles and permissions as well as tenancies.

It not difficult. It could be added to the login page which is customizable.

The Lianja Admin Console replaced that requirement.

    I am glad I asked!

One example Customer Portal I been asked to consider runs off a MYOB Advanced base with 30,000 customers.
Not all will be interested in self service but with customer experience & engagement coupled with PWA's that going to be a big users table?

Even keeping customers in the "feed" is so important.
    Great discussion...

The users table is just that, a system table for a tenancy. You can therefore add records by appending from many types of files e.g CSV.

millions of records is no issue whatsoever. We have customers that have individual tables that are over 500GB and that’s running 24x7.

Good, just wanting to make sure best practices are keep mind if developing a portal or landing page.

I might lodge an ER for gadgets in tooling a pre-fab customer portal.
