    Silent Network Install with Activation

    Hi

Is it possible to silently install Lianja App Builder and also activate installed copies.

    Currently using:
    "%~dp0LianjaAppBuilder-1.5-windows-installer.exe" --mode unattended
Which install silently, but we still have to activate each license manually.

    Regards
    Darren

    Hi Darren,

I'm not sure what %-dp0 is, that's not the Lianja certified distribution. What is that?

Why would you want to install and activate quietly? The App Center is the desktop runtime client. That's what you deploy to customers or end users in an installer that you build.

can you explain what it is you want to achieve and the purpose.

    Hi Barry

%~dp0 just means "in this folder" for installing programs using cmd line on windows. So basically we are using a batch script (windows command line) to install Lianja App Builder on to student Desktops so that the can create applications.

We want to install Lianja App Builder and activate quietly as we would rather not have to manually license each app builder on each student work station. The reasoning for the silent install and activation is because students tamper with the computers often and may need to be re-installed. The silent (unattended) install means that the IT Administrator does not have to manually install each program on each computer separately.

    Hi Darren,

Ah ok. Thanks for the explanation.

Currently you need to manually activate the license.

I can see the need to be able to do this on a silent install for educational use as the same license key is used across all installations.

On Linux this can be done with lianja-admin but that does not exist on windows. I'll look into it.

    Thanks for your Reply.

Yes this would be ideal for education. Even the ability to Deactivate multiple licenses en mass before a re-install of a lab. But i would be happy with just the silent activation.

Looking forward to your future implementations.

    Regards
    Darren

    Hi Darren

It may be possible to activate on first run if the PCs have Internet access and an environment variable set that points to a file on the network that contains the license key....

That would be simple enough to implement inside the App Builder.
