Product thumbs in grid/navigation - is this possible?

I want to make a navigation of products on left side. When the client clicks on it the detailed data must be shown on the right side. For a good recognition I want to use small thumbs in front of the productname so the client can see what he choose.

    See my attachments.

Is this possible? If yes, where can I find a tutorial how to do this.

    Hi Erwin,

Have a look at the 'CatalogView App' example (example_catalogview). Also here: http://www.lianja.com/doc/index.php/CatalogView_Options.

The CatalogView Section is designed to display an image (stored in the table as a blob) along with a link field, sub caption field and a varchar/memo if required. The link field can be clicked to display more detailed information in a section below or on another Page. The CatalogView Section tiles can also be custom coded (html) to customize them further.

    Regards,

    Yvonne

Ok. I understand, but I want to have the navigation/product on the left side and detailed information on the right side. I don't want to switch between screens. Something similar as my attachement.

I'm also charmed of the example gridgadget app but I can't figure out how it's made. Do you have a place on your website where these examples are explained?

    Hi Erwin,

It's easier for me to create a video than typing out the whole thing.

Here's a down and dirty way to create the grid gadget example.
You can change the fixedwidth to adjust the sizes.

A quick explanation on how to search data behind a section either by referencing the row itself, or using the search delegate.
