    LianjaServer takes port 80

How can you get the Lianja Server to not use port 80? That screwed up my IIS installation because it could not start sites. Seems like an installation option needs to be what port to use so that you aren't unknowingly sabotaging your IIS installation.

Uncheck the port 80 checkbox in the server manager. It's the top-right checkbox on the HTTP Settings page of the server manager.

    enjoy,

Thanks, Hank. Sorry for the late reply. On vacation . . .

What I did, to get the addressed right away, was go into MSConfig and disable LianjaServer from loading at start up. Really, I don't see why it should load unless I'm running Lianja. I really don't want it running all the time. Hopefully, there is a way to get that done.

If you are using the APaaS edition and want to test your app in the LCS, you will need it enabled. Note that it also includes Lianja SQL Server, so if you are planning to deploy against LSS, you will also want it running. Other than those two caveats, yes, you don't need it running.

I have IIS and Lianja running on the same box without any issues.
As Hank pointed out - It's configurable in the GUI and has not shown to be resource intensive, so I am not sure why you need to disable it.

But then again - there's a lot I am unsure about

    Hi Herb,

agreed; it just sits there until it's used, on Windows 8 using 0% of CPU and 1MB !!! of memory. Once your run it it will use and hold onto a bit of memory, along with the db_httpserver processes, but it's all minimal.
