    Overriding Section Caption Width

    Hi Guys

We have a number of sections set with the appropriate Caption Width & it work great.

We now need to add a comments field to each section which needs to be wider - no caption, just text.

Is there any way to override the caption width for a single field in a section?

We tried using Rich text gadget but that would not coexist in a section - it seems to need its own section (we can't spare the column width in the section). When we asked the Rich text gadget to render in-line and stretch, it just swamped the other fields.

We could provide a number of extra sections, each with its own rich text editor but this has to run on a tablet natively one day so trying to keep the complexity down.

    Any ideas welcome.

    Cheers

No they are done that way so they are responsive to geometry changes. What you can do is place subtitles above caption/data. These occupy the whole width of the caption and the data. You can set the colors to match your theme. Multiple subtitles can be placed one on top of each other if you have a lot of text.

If all you want is a subtitle for the whole section then that is in the section attributes and you can specify its height and background/foreground colors. It is then displayed at the top of the section.

    Barry,
    Can you please check.
If I add a subtitle item while already have a menu, then the subtitle will display below menu. Assume an ideal look would be for the menu to be below the subtitle for the section.

(Canvas section, with menu, add subtitle)

If you look at the "Example full page edit" app in v1.1 and switch to runtime view you will see what can be achieved.
