And I'm guessing the dialog must have come from the onbeforedelete trigger also, but wasn't showing in the DD (probably because it was created before the UI of the DD had the triggers there).

In LianjaDemo, I created (in the Data Workspace) and OnBeforeDelete delegate on the Orders table, simply changing the .T. to .F.
I then click the - icon on the Orders grid, click Yes to whether I want to delete the currently selected record, and it goes ahead and does it.
I've gotten the same result in a grid gadget on my own app, which is why I checked in LianjaDemo.
Should the table trigger prevent the delete in the grid?

PS: how did you get the dialog to come up? I can't find a delegate anywhere.
