Lianja SQL Server Release Candidate 1 is now available

Lianja SQL Server Release Candidate 1 is now available for Windows.

The Lianja SQL Server distribution includes the Server itself, along with the Lianja ODBC Driver, sample data (southwind) and a sample ODBC System DSN (Lianja_Southwind). A separate distribution of just the Lianja ODBC Driver (for connection to a remote Lianja SQL Server) is also available for download.

For management and configuration of the Lianja SQL Server, please see the guide to the Lianja SQL Server Manager here. To create and configure ODBC DSNs for the Lianja ODBC Driver, please see the guide to the Lianja ODBC Manager here.

Lianja SQL Server wants to install itself in C:\Lianja. Is this a) required (i.e., to be in the same default directory as Lianja App Builder apps and data) or if not, b) recommended?

    thanks,

    Hank

I've realised that the documentation probably did not make it clear that the Database directory for Lianja SQL Server is the Runtime data directory. This is the same directory used by the Lianja App Center and is different from the Development directory used by the Lianja App Builder. To make your databases or changes you have made to the southwind sample database available to the Lianja SQL Server, you will need to deploy them to the Runtime data directory. This can be done in a few clicks from the Deploy Worksurface in the Lianja App Builder and is explained here.
