Question Any ideas on how to run the app without needing to install Linaja

    Hello Everyone,

We made a Linaja standalone app with a virtual database, and it's working well. But when we put it on another computer, the connection doesn't work until we install Linaja. Any ideas on how to run the app without needing to install Linaja?

We utilized a VFP database as the virtual one.

How did you create the installer.

When you say it doesn’t work, what doesn’t work?

Did you include the database containing the VT definitions in your installer?

    > We have created the app via standalone options.

When you say it doesn’t work, what doesn’t work?
    > Virtual tables not getting connected via oledb. The exact same thing is started getting work if we install lianja in the system. so same .exe file is working if the lianja softerware installed in the system. If lianja not installed in the system virtual table with oledb connection is not working.

Have you installed the VFP oledb driver on the target machine?

    Thanks for the revert.

I have already installed visual fox pro in the target machine. after your comment we are now trying to install driver https://download.cnet.com/microsoft-...oogle_vignette from this link. Please correct if this not the expected one we are suppose to go ahead with.

I will update the outcome here once done.

The latest vfp oledb msi file is included in the Lianja dist directory. That’s the one you should install.

FYI the exe file that you run can take any of the Lianja runtime command switches… so for example you should be able to run

nameofexe -c “open database yourdatabase;use vtname; list first 10”

to verify your data is accessible.

We have taken VFPOLEDBSetup.msi file from the system where lianja is intalled. This setup file we have installed in target machine, but it still failed.

We have tried firing above mentioned command and its showing below error.

What error is shown when you run in a cmd window.

    .\vtinout

    in that directory.

Also please check the double quotes you used. Sometimes cutting and pasting from the forums changes these characters.
