Setting Quick Search field

I am building an app that I want my clients to be able to access on their desktop/phones/tablets via the internet.

I have set the app as a webapp/phone/tablet app

I have a page with a grid section and a canvas section below it.

I'm trying to set the field to use for the quick search but can't find a way to do it.

Also tried to set up Instant Search but also couldn't find a way to do it.

I bring up the field attributes for either section but don't see an option to make it the search field.

Does this feature only work on desktop apps?

Sorry, please ignore my post for help with quick search.

I found the check box for the field. I don't know how I missed it. I kept looking and looking and didn't see it.

Sorry, I'm baaack with more on adding the search option.

This time I'm working with a grid. It seems the quick search option is not available for grids, but there is a Search Panel that can be set up in its place.

Is this correct? i.e. quick search is not applicable to grids?

When I follow the instructions, I get the Grid Column Attributes but I only have 3 items listed where as the screen shot has about 16 including a checkbox for setting the Search Panel Field to True. See attached screenshot of my attribute settings.

I'm trying to create a WebApp/Tablet/Phone app. Is that why I don't see all the options shown in the screenshot?

Hi Steve,

You have selected "Basic" attributes. Change that to "Expert".

Quick search works with grids in desktop, web and mobile.

You need to check "Search bar visible".

You can filter what attributes are displayed by typing in the "Search attributes" textbox.
