    Gallery and Catalog Views

    Hi Barry

With Gallery and Catalog view I notice you can use script in some of the options:
    Code:
    concat(alltrim(firstname),' ',alltrim(lastname),'<br>',alltrim(address),'<br>',alltrim(city),
    '<br>',alltrim(region),'<br>',alltrim(country))
How far can you extend this for example what if a Sales person had a Area Code and the full decription of area code was in a related table.
Can you use a LOOKUP function inside some options?

Very common that descriptors would be keys from lookup tables.

If the answer is no then I guess you would refer to using a custom delegate file?
Trying to go the LoCode option here...

    Thanks Paul

    Hi Paul,

The Catalogview 'Caption' just needs to be a valid expression, so yes, it could include lookup functions.

Both the Catalogview and Galleryview sections are based on Lianja Server Pages from the Library: catalogview.rsp and galleryview.rsp. You can view the code - bear in mind that if you make changes, these will be overwritten by any subsequent product update. The Catalogview 'Caption' is evaluated and displayed.

    Regards,

    Yvonne

    Hi Yvonne

Excellent so grabbing this image from the Doc just about every attribute can take a Expr/Func()?

Do I assume "Content Details" must however be a field name?

If we look at this image for Catalogue what can I assume would be an expression?

I am wondering if as an enhancement to consider marking attributes that can hold Expr/Func() differently.
Inline functions are a very powerful thing

    Thanks Paul.

    Hi Paul,

If you look at the help text at the bottom of the Attributes tab or Attributes dialog, it should specify whether the attribute can be an expression or whether a column should be specified (or either).

    Regards,

    Yvonne

    Thanks Yvonne
I put a few ER tickets in around this to assist with NoCode/LowCode.

Just my thoughts, all good, Paul.
