    Basic Access Denied

    Hi
I am working on a virtual table which is a selection from an existing table in the database with 8K records
The existing table is called MasterData and opens fine in the usual way.

Once I created the virtual table vt_MyVirtualTable, (the Virtual Table opens fine), now the MasterData states Access Denied?
and if I doubleclick on the table I get the message 'masterdata.dbf' does not exist

    Hi Charlie,

When a VT opens it also opens the table. Check with LIST STAT from the Command Window.

Tables open in the LAB are opened Exclusive.

    Hi Hank
Strange becuase I have other VT's on other tables and both VT & Source are accessible at the same time
When I created a VT that failed (for a particular reason - Error in the SQL or Properties) it locked the source table to access denied
When I closed all the access denied table became available.
So I creaetd a new VT on it without attempting any Parameterized view and both VT & Source tables were accessible (at the same time)
Something lacking in my fundamental understanding ..
    Charlie
