Removed script file from app without deleting it

I have a folder in my Library/thirdpartylibs folder with some prg files in

Create app and add some as script files to the app

I want to remove one of these from the app, but not delete it from disk.

I can't see for find a a way to remove it without deleting it.

Probably something very basic I'm not seeing in the interface

Hi David,

Are you saying that you have a copy in the App's folder and one in the thirdpartylibs folder? Do you not just need the thirdpartylibs one if it is not required by the App?

It's in the thirdpartylibs folder or it could actually be in the app folder I guess.

Lets say I add 4 prgs to the app and decide I don't actually need number 3 in my app at this point in time, so I want to remove it for the moment. but i don't want to delete it.

Is that possible or does it always show a list of files in the directory and those are the ones deemed to be part of the project.

Hi David,

Did you add the prgs to the Project or did you copy them into the App? If you add an App, database or library file to a Project, that does not physically change the location of those files. So, you can remove files from a Project without it changing their disk location.

When you create a Project, it creates a .lpj file in the lianja\projects folder. That file stores the location of the files added to the Project. If you remove a file from the Project it will just remove it from the .lpj file.

If you copy a file to an App or create a file in the App, it will be located in the App's folder: lianja\apps\name-of-App. If you delete that file, it will be deleted from the folder/disk.

I have a project xcase_2_Lianja
That shows up in the apps folder under the project xcase_2_Lianja

If I goto the Apps workspace, I think that is what is is called, I have a prg named test in the script files
That does not show in the script files in the projects workspace.

So I need to add files to the project to be able to remove them, Ok thats fine, but

In the project workspace if I right click on the Library folder and select "add library files to project" then goto a prg file on my drive and select it it does not get added to the project.

Any idea what i'm doing wrong again

Hi David,

Add the prg file to the Library in the Library workspace first: drag and drop from an Explorer window, or just copy to the lianja\library folder. Then you can use 'Add library files to project...' in the Projects workspace.

Hi Yvonne,

I have a prg in Library/thirdpartylibs/avian

avian is listed in the addition file path setting of the app

in the project workspace I right click on the library folder and select Add library files to project and in the interface that comes up I navigate to the avian folder and select a prg

Click on the Open button and nothing happens.

If I select a prg that is in the Library folder itself it works.

However I want to keep my prgs in the avian folder and have them show in the projects workspace so I can see what is in this project, a bit like I would in a VFP project.

Is there anyway to get it to add prgs in my Library/thirdpartylibs/avian folder?

Hi David,

Can you submit a ticket with an enhancement request for that? It is currently only adding Library or Page Library files to the Project, but seems that thirdpartylibs should be a valid location too.
