    thanks Barry, you're great!
    "set optlog on" really solved the precedence problem! (All I have to do is find out what made it optlog = off, while I couldn't issue this instruction because I didn't even know it)

    Is there any way to query the status of the optlog? It would make it easier for me to find out how it is changing.

    I understand that this is a feature of Lianja (and not a bug), but for now I will only face its disadvantages (since it is different from how VFP works), I will definitely see the advantages later. Fortunately, declaration to private solves the problem as well.

    In 5.4 you can use.

    ? set("optlog")

    The only possible place that is being changed is when a SQL parse error has occurred.
