Lianja 5.3 brings much improved Visual Components to the Lianja platform

Since the release of Lianja 5.2, I have been working on Lianja 5.3 with the objective of releasing it in february.

The main focus of 5.3 is to provide much improved support for Visual Components.

You can build components visually using the Canvas Designer and embed them in custom sections or custom gadgets without coding.

The component architecture allows any component to be customized using props. The customization of Visual Components is accomplished using the Component Attributes Editor.

The FormToolsBar has a new icon "Component" which when clicked pops up a Component Gallery.

You can customize the component props by clicking on the keyboard icon in the section header which activates the Custom Attributes Editor.

The "Section" icon and the "Gadget" icon also now include "Visual Components".

These Visual Components work in Desktop, Web and Mobile Apps.

You can now share components between team members by creating a Lianja .lpk package in the Deploy workspace and deploying it to your team GitHub repository. Once deployed, select the Team workspace and click on the package tile to install it on other development machines.

Components do not need to be deployed. They are automatically included in the App which is generated by Lianja.

I will be adding support for Charts in Canvas sections and the ability to componentize any WebView based section or gadget.

Further details on how to use components in your own custom code can be found at:
    https://www.lianja.com/doc/index.php/Visual_Components

This is also the basis for integrating third party Web components. More to come...

    Hi Lianja Team

This is a major step towards NoCode app development as Canvas section allows VFP9 drap and drop method of building UI
With able to convert canvas section to a component, this will help cut my app development time by months!

    Many thanks again !!

    Hi Barry,

Nice. This makes the reference to the component lib and component, and the path to the component, coherent with other references in Lianja.

The "Component Gallery" now handles better component development functionality with the ability to edit components, switching into the App containing the visual component.
