    Hi Gontran,

What type of notifications do you want to provide to your users? Is it to tell them a record has been updated?

    Regards,

On a page there is a timer to use. Use that to make the backend check and to do whatever you need to do in the notification section.

There is a timer delegate on all UI elements and also at the App level. So as Hank says, call a server side proc asynchronously every 30 seconds or so. That proc can check for records based on any condition and notify the user.

Wow, missed that in the docs. Found it: under Custom Delegates. https://www.lianja.com/doc/index.php...elegates#Timer It does not list App, and I am not seeing the Timer Interval and Delegate exposed on the App settings, FWIW.

    thanks,

    Hank

Yes sorry, the app has an inactive delegate. That would be a good place to place the call to the server side proc.

Hello , ok if I understand I can use the timer event with timer interval in the page, this call my proc. and use the notification section if I have some messages for my user.

Or I can use the Inactive delegate (in app delegates) with inactive interval to call my proc. to check If I have some message for my user.

    Thanks for the time.

Agreed. The general notion of a sidebar with items to be processed that is dynamically refreshed is a common need in apps left open by the user all day. Even if the notification panel is only on the home page, issuing notifications as certain kinds of new items are "received" would be more easily implemented at the App level.
