Support & Step by Step for Newbies to be up and running

    Good day

I installed the trial version of lianja APaaS and i have read some documentation, watched the Getting Started (Videos) as well. I tried to build a small app but was not successful.
It later throw out error - says "your app will be close or check online for solution...."
I closed and login again, i tried to drag the table on to my form, it says error - the tablename now has (Access denied) in front of it. ...kindly help out.

I want to ask, is there a pdf file or something that contain step by step guideline to build a complete app and also how to work around the available demo? -because from the Developers Guide, sometimes, you get navigated away and forget where you're coming from...

    Is there provision for:
    * user access rights (view, insert, copy, print, edit, print, delete)
    * Error log; user log, and changes log - audit trail

    I haven't seen a report sample...
    * What are the available format can you convert/export your report into?

I'm new to lianja but had little experience with Visual FoxPro, I really want to learn the basics and how I can build a sophisticated app with lianja within the shortest time possible.

    Regards,
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,

I do not know where to start: you have too many questions at once.
Before you set a specific question, while providing additional info (your operating system, are you trying desktop/web/mobile/tablet...)
I would recommend these 3 pages as step-by-step starter guide:

    https://www.lianja.com/doc/index.php...Started_Part_1
    https://www.lianja.com/doc/index.php...Started_Part_2
    https://www.lianja.com/doc/index.php...Started_Part_3

    Hi Gabriel,

Some links to other wiki pages and categories that should help:

    Error handling and logging
    Database Timelines (row versioning)

    Backup:
    Versions Workspace
    COPY_DATABASE
    Data Export

Further reporting options are planned (http://lianja.com/resources/roadmap).
Currently, you can use the Report Section for column based reports, use an rsp (Lianja/VFP code + HTML) - you can see example output here or jssp (JavaScript + HTML) or a third party Report Writer using the Lianja ODBC Driver and Lianja SQL Server.

The execRSP() and execJSSP() functions can be used to execute an rsp or jssp script respectively and send their output to an HTML file for viewing, emailing etc.

    Mail functions

    Regards,

    Yvonne

    Hi Gabriel,

    Re; reports

Real reportting stuff are comming in release 4.2 (ReportEngine class) and 5.0 (Report Builder).
For now, take a look at these demo apps with Report sections. Also in Lianjademo:

    example_webapp2 report_credit_gt_5000
    example_webapp2 report_make_customers
    example_webapp2 Client_Credit_Manager_all

Here is Yvonne's report. Not bad at all

    Look at [Answers] collection:

    Thanks again, Josip.

That's good, am really looking forward to it, but in the mean time, am really going to take a good look at all the links sent across before asking further questions.

    Regards,
    Gabriel
