It would be nice to be able set the data, app, library, and template directories of an app to a Dropbox folder. That way data would be automatically synced between Windows, Mac and Linux. This would enable development across multiple devices without having to copy files onto USB thumb drives!
Wouldn't Git integration be preferable, in terms of being able to fork, test the fork, and then merge? That's why there's source control in the first place: because the all-or-nothing of the Dropbox (or network directory or whatever like that) approach doesn't allow a style of development that works well for teams.
As for data: we model data separately from the application. The data schema updates are then put in source control. We're in Vault now, but are looking forward to the increased flexibility of Git.
There is nothing stopping you use git, subversion or other version control externally to Lianja.
Understood, and if we can get past there being no visual report designer, that's what we would do. Integration would be nice, though.
