I downloaded the latest version. What user ID and password should I use? It defaults to my user name in Windows 7, but no matter what password I use it says it is invalid and prompts me to see system administrator.

admin
admin

Thats for the App Center.

If you run the AppBuilder you will automatically logged in as that.

admin / admin is the default that we ship with. The only way it should be any different is if you used the Users workspace in the Lianja App Builder to change the password for the admin account.

I still have the same problem. I reported this and thought that it was something you were working on.

I can not log onto the App Center with either admin admin (and even though I didn't believe that I had changed the password for admin, I did try changing it back to admin) or with any of the users I created.

However you did fix the problem with it not deleting users correctly.

I'll create another identical VM tonight and do a fresh install of Lianja and see what happens and let you know. If it would be of any benefit to you I'd me more than glad to make this machine available to you.

Gaylenj for testing you can just use the home tab in the Lianja App Builder.

Cheers
Jay

I cleared out the old installation and installed the lastest version from your site. The user workspace in the AppBuilder has admin as the userid and "21232f297..................." as the password. That password in the AppBuilder was the same in the download from several days ago and the new installation. However it does appears that both downloads were the same build so having the same password is not surprising. I still am not able to get into the app center with admin - admin.

Jay - Thanks for the heads up. I had been playing with the Lianja App Builder and was curious as the what was behind the curtain of App Controls. I have had to reinstall several time due to the AppBuilder not finding some variable on startup. Not sure what gliched and I will send it a ticket the next time it belches again. I have only been playing around with it a few days and it looks promising.

Thanks
Gaylen

admin/admin for the Lianja App Center is working fine on my machine in beta9R4. I will ask someone else to test beta9R3.

The passwords are MD5 encrypted.

Perhaps the installer is not replacing the system tables correctly (as that was fixed in bet9R3). We will investigate. Just add another user and then use that username and password to login.

For what it is worth, just in case as often happens, I had unknowingly messed up something with all my playing around, I decided to try it from scratch.

I just created another VM running WinXP I let Microsoft upgrade it with all the upgrades. Installed Avast Anti Virus, FireFox, and then Lianja. I had not problems with the installation. However I still can not log onto the App Center. It's default is "Administrator" so I tried both that and "admin" and "Admin" with the passwords of "Administrator", "Admin" and "admin".

I also created a new user and tried to log on with that, still no joy.

Ok we will take a look as I have no issue here which does not mean its not a problem with something else to do with the installer.

We are unable to reproduce this.

If you want, let me know and I can set up a remote so you can look at my computer.

I will do a clean install and have another look.

I have been able to reproduce the problem if there's a missing index (just need to work out why the index could be missing). Give this a go and let us know if it fixes the problem. Thanks.

Run the App Builder and enter the following commands in the Console Recital/VFP tab:

open database system
use sysroles
index on username tag username

Then exit the App Builder and try to log into the App Center with admin/admin.

OK - got it :). If you run the App Center first on a new install, the index is not being created. If you run the App Builder first, it works fine. I've logged a ticket for that, so we'll get it fixed up. In the meantime, please use the code above to create the index, or, if you haven't added any Users you want to keep, just delete the file C:\Lianja\data\system\sysroles.dbf then fire up the App Builder and it will recreate the table and the index too.

Note: Windows only.

We have tracked this down. It only occurs when you access the App Center for the first time after installation. If you access the App Builder it does not happen. We will fix this in beta9R4.
