What ( OpenSource ? ) software is the base for the FoxPro features ?

    Hello,

I read "Write stored procedures in a Visual FoxPro compatible scripting language on all supported platforms".

What ( OpenSource ? ) software is the base for the FoxPro features of your service ?

As the original Microsoft FoxPro is outdated, is in Germany just sold for limited time by the FoxPro user community (http://www.dfpug.de/ ), and just a Windows software, but else both the language and the platform is "dead", though there are still some more-or less commercial and ( maybe non-commercial OpenSource ) DbaseIII-too competitors...

    So please tell me :-).

Btw claiming to be "FoxPro compatible" is likely no good idea, due to trademark law ( especially if you donīt name the OpenSource product and it's own claim to be a FoxPro clone... that might be ok )

    Sincerly
    Rolf

Lianja (as stated on the website) has it's own built-in cross platform implementation of the Visual FoxPro scripting language and database engine.

Yes, Visual FoxPro is Windows only and not supported anymore by Microsoft. Lianja runs on Windows, Linux and Mac.

It is not open source. It was written by ourselves.

One of the goals of Lianja was to provide a next generation platform for building business Apps that will run in desktop, cloud and mobile.

The rationale behind Lianja is described in the Lianja vision.

After 20+ years in the industry, I feel opensource is a great idea if you don't put too much value on your time.

    Just my opinion.
